After a couple of years – or less if you’re unfortunate – the battery of the Apple iPhone does get affected by daily wear and tear. Though it does last marginally better than most other smartphones out there, it can’t ultimately beat Father Time. Here we tell you how to find out the health of your Apple iPhone and whether you need a replacement battery or not:
Step 1: Go to Settings
Step 2: Here you will see the Battery option. Click on it
Step 3: Tap on the Battery Health option
Step 4: Under this option, you’ll see Maximum Capacity which will show a figure in percentage.
Step 5: Right below Maximum Capacity, you will see Peak Performance Capability option.
Step 6: If you see this message “Your battery is currently supporting normal peak performance” then your iPhone battery is in good health
Step 7: If you see this message “Your battery’s health is significantly degraded. An Apple Authorized Service Provider can replace the battery to restore full performance and capacity,” then your iPhone battery is not in good condition.
So, follow these steps and find out if you need a new battery for your iPhone or not.
Things to keep in mind:
There are a few other things that one should keep in mind about the performance of the iPhone battery.
In the due course of following the above-mentioned steps, if you see this message “Important Battery Message: Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple battery. Health information not available for this battery,” then it means the battery in your iPhone cannot be verified and perhaps it is not an original iPhone battery.
Do note that this message will appear only in iPhone XS, XS Max and XR models.
